Anthropologie is my FAVORITE store! Their window displays are a feast for the eyes and their clothes and home goods are a feast for the soul. Well, my soul.
Random fact: I worked for Anthropologie in my high school days helping to open their Park Meadows store. My closet and I have such fond memories of the employee discount.
I heard about the Mother’s Day DIY Fabric Flower event via the Anthro events email and quickly RSVP’d. The lovely Lexy of The Proper Pinwheel was going to teach us how to make fabric flowers and I was so excited. My mom loves flowers and I adore fabric, so I figured this would be such a fun mother/daughter outing!
When we got to the event, I was happily surprised to find out that my good friend Katie of Katie Hellinger Photography was there with her mom too! Isn’t she adorable!?
Per the usual, fabulous, Anthro style, there were treats, mimosas, and little water bottles wrapped in fabric out on display. It almost was too pretty to eat! Almost. I definitely polished off more than my fair share of chocolate mini muffins and cinnamon buns.
Also, Anthro had the wonderful Jennifer Little of Sugar Photography there to take pictures of the event! Thanks, Jen, for letting me use your images!
After a demo from Lexy, we got to crafting. (If you’d like to make your own fabric flowers, check out Lexy’s DIY Fabric Flower Tutorial!)
A few hot glue gun burns and tons of laughs later, we all ended up with some fun fabric flowers!
In addition to being a great friend, Katie is also a great photographer. I begged her to take some pictures for my blog (ie: Derby Inspired Clutch) and she snapped a few shots of the fabric flowers too.
And then it got weird…
