July 3, 2013 by Erin | 17 Comments dandeliondrift Cute stuff. I remember when there weren’t many cute oil cloth prints out there. This one is great. I wonder if it would work with laminated fabric as well. http://www.sewbon.com Erin Thanks! I love that there are so many cute fabric options out there now too! And I totally think this would work great with a laminated fabric. Laminated fabric isn’t quite as thick and structured as oilcloth, so it might be a bit more floppy. Sizing down a bit could help with that though. If you make the bag, I would LOVE to see! http://blancapate.wordpress.com blancapate Such an awesome tutorial!! What a clever idea, with the mesh pockets!! I’m a swimmer as well, and have stuffed way too many wet swim caps, goggles, etc. in the bottom of my bags way to many times not to appreciate such a perfect detail. Also – the pictures are just gorgeous. Between you and your sister, you’re both very talented ladies! http://www.sewbon.com Erin Aww, you are so sweet!!! I always hate fishing out the wet stuff from the bottom of the bag when I get home; The mesh pockets are so nice since things can air dry a little now. sommer love love love! was wondering what i was gonna do with all my oilcloth:) where did you get the mesh? http://www.sewbon.com Erin Thanks!! I found the mesh at Joann’s. They seem to have everything! It was back in the section by the nylon fabric and it came in black and white. I think it would be really cool to dye the white mesh a fun color! I debated dyeing mine pink but thought the white looked just as nice. elisaclark Such a fantastic tutorial and great bag! I’ve never sewn with oil cloth before. Hmmm…I might have to give it a try! http://www.sewbon.com Erin Thanks! You should- oilcloth is so fun! I would love to see what you make!
