When Rachel from Imagine Gnats asked me last month if I would be a pattern tester for her new Bess Top, I jumped at the chance! I’ve sewn up one of her patterns before, the Roly-Poly Pinafore, so I knew that this was going to be a great pattern. (note to self… get on the ball and blog that adorable pinafore already!)

When I received the pattern, I wasn’t disappointed! The pattern includes options for making a top, tunic, and dress and also has 2 neckline options. Plus, the tunic and dress versions include an option to include in-seam pockets. I picked the top with the scoop neckline.

The Bess Top includes a great technique for making the sleeves by having the back pattern piece wrap around to the front! It’s kinda like magic… Boom! Now you have sleeves without having to cut, sew, set, and ease in the sleeves!
