I’m a bit leather obsessed these days. So when I recently got my ‘big girl’ blog business cards for Alt Summit, I decided I needed to make a fun leather business card holder to put them in. After all, nothing says ‘professional-ish blogger’ like distressed metallic gold leather.
After cruising around on Kollabora for a bit, I found a project made with the For the Makers La Pouchette Pattern and thought the pattern would make for a perfect business card holder. Due to my leather obsession, I already had an amazing distressed metallic gold hide on hand (as well as like 8 other hides… does this make me a leather horder?), so I just downloaded the free PDF pattern and got to work.
The only changes I made were to gouge out the fold lines with a v-gouge and to add a bit of leather glue to keep the bottom flap flush against the side flaps.
Start to finish, even with my additional changes, this project only took like 15 minutes. Man, I love a quick and awesome DIY!
And guess what’s even more awesome?! If you want to make one too but you don’t have leather on hand, For the Makers sells a kit with the supplies!
