Life has been pretty crazy lately… I haven’t had nearly the amount of time to spend on my sewing machine as I would have liked the past couple weeks, but I did manage to make this pretty dress! The Tank Dress is the newest pattern by Sew Caroline and it’s being released today!

Just like the last Sew Caroline pattern, the tank dress is a super easy and fun sew! It doesn’t have any darts, zips, or closures and has an optional cinched back and optional pockets. I sewed the small size without pockets and also took it in a bit in the bust by about a half in on either side. I also shorted it by a hearty amount. In retrospect, I should have only shorted it a little as I didn’t have much length left to work with for the hem. Oops. But, I figured this was a great reason to bust out my rolled-hem foot to do the tiniest hem possible.

This was actually my first time using the rolled-hem foot and it’s so cool! I need a bit more practice with it as it’s not perfect by any means, but I’m going to chalk it up to my first time use and the curve of the hem. 🙂

The fabric I used was from my stash and sadly it’s no longer available! It’s a Robert Kaufman Cotton Lawn called London Calling in Floral Sorbet that I bought from Fabric.com last year.

Make sure to keep an eye on Sew Caroline today so you can pick up this PDF pattern when she releases it here!
