I got hooked on Core Power Yoga Sculpt classes back in the winter when I was looking to escape our frigid apartment and enjoy some “free” heat. Sculpt is pretty much an hour of profuse sweating in a 95 degree room while doing sun salutations, high knees, weights, a million chaturangas, and old fashion pushups (which I still have to do on my knees). It’s such a hard class, but I always feel so accomplished and exhausted after.
To encourage my new found love of yoga, my super fit sister-in-law gave me an amazingly cushy yoga mat for Christmas. Sadly, I’ve just been shlepping my new yoga mat under my arm to class for the past 6 months since it was too big to fit in the Amy Butler Nigella Yoga Mat Bag that I made a few years ago.
But not any more! As part of the Elna Boutique Designers program, I whipped up this super easy fitness mat strap on my Elna eXpressive 900 and made a tutorial to share. I wish I had sewn this sooner because it’s perfect for carrying my yoga mat on the walk to the yoga studio from my apartment. Plus, I’ve already received tons of compliments on it and Andy’s requesting that I make him a “less girly” one.
