I’m a quilter-wannabe. I love browsing through the tons of gorgeous quilty inspiration on Instagram (like this, this, and this) and I have a collection of awesome quilting patterns I have high hopes of sewing but, sadly, I’ve never actually make a pieced quilt.
It just seems so time consuming! I started on the Fancy Fox quilt around a year ago and I have about 16 blocks done… so at this rate, I should have the quilt finished in 2023. But, I do love making whole cloth quilts because they are quick, easy, and make for great baby gifts!
Seriously, I can whip one of these cozy baby blankets out in less than an hour… helloooo instant gratification!

Materials
- 1 Yard Main Fabric
- 1 Yard Lining Fabric
- 1 Yard Cotton Batting
- Basting Spray Adhesive (I used Spray n Bond)
- Thread
- General Sewing Supplies
Instructions
One: Cut the main fabric, lining fabric, and batting to the same size. Mine was 43 inches x 36 inches.
Two: Baste spray the batting to the wrong side of the lining fabric.
Three: Place the lining and the main fabric right sides together and pin around the edges.
Four: Sew around the sides with a 3/4 inch seam allowance leaving a 6 inch opening. Clip the corners.
Five: Turn the quilt through the opening so that the right sides are facing out.
Six: Stitch around the edges of the quilt with a 1/2 inch seam allowance, closing the opening that the quilt was turned through.
Seven: Quilt the top of the quilt anyway you’d like! I really love the look of diagonal lines or bartacks.
Eight: Wash the quilt to remove the spray basting and wrap up a cute baby in it!
